Beach Bunny Live in Nashville with Pool Kids
Posted: by The Alt Editing Staff
At Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl last week, indie rock darlings Beach Bunny gave fans a first real taste of Tunnel Vision, their highly anticipated new album, which drops this Friday, April 25th. The band, fronted by Lili Trifilio, delivered a set that was equal parts familiar and fresh, balancing beloved hits with brand new songs.
Kicking off the night were Pool Kids, who proved to be the perfect contrast and complement to Beach Bunny’s pop sound. Originally known for their more math rock roots, Pool Kids have been steadily evolving their sound, especially with their self-titled 2023 release that embraced more indie and alternative textures. Their Nashville set featured material from their upcoming album due later this year, unreleased songs that leaned even further into that new direction while still maintaining the technical complexity and emotional weight fans know them for.
Before Beach Bunny took the stage, the set design set the tone, revealing a polly pocket pastel dream world complete with a window and wardrobe. It was playful, personal, and perfectly matched the band’s signature blend of vulnerability and upbeat charm.
From the moment they stepped onstage, the energy was electric. Trifilio’s calls for mosh pits were met with zero hesitation, and the crowd responded with enthusiasm, jumping to early favorites like “Prom Queen” and “Sports” and hanging on to every word from the new songs.
If this Nashville show is any preview, Tunnel Vision is poised to be a turning point for Beach Bunny, and their fans are more than ready to go wherever they lead, Polly Pocket stage and all.
